Austin Monthly gave us a great 4.5 star review.

"In a town so saturated with gimmicky bands, it's refreshing to come upon Wiretree's honest, unironic power pop.  In fact, the group's music reminds me of Big Star's "Ballad of El Goodo." ..   The band's thrid LP, Make Up, contains great ditties, including the sweetly rollicking stomper "Broken Foot," the ominous-feeling "Tonight" and "Dakota" a cathartic and wonderful sample of what makes Wiretree so good.  Sometimes with all the electric bleeps and bloops in music, you just want some good, honest rock n' roll.

New reviews from All Music Guide and Aid & Abetting

We just added some new reviews from "All Music Guide" and Aid & Abetting in the review section.

with songs like "The Shore," another in the line of jaunty and jumping songs that have roots via Motown, the Smiths, the Strokes and beyond, the quartet can easily strike gold at its best.

Here's a new write-up about us on the Austin Post.

"The new album is raw and powerful, packed with the kind of songs that make you tap your feet and sing along. The return to basics and getting rid of bells and whistles actually makes Wiretree sound even better, purer, stronger. Definitely worth checking it out."

New review in from Blurt

We just received a stellar review from Blurt.  Very excited about this one as they don't give out many 9 out of 10 star reviews.

"It's damn near impossible to pick favorites - is it the ultracatchy jumper "Broken Foot?" Or the stuttering singalong "The Shore?" Is it the rollicking power popper "Tinyhearts?" Or is it the dynamic "MTH," which starts moody and goes out rocking? Maybe it's the pedal steel-laced "Josephine," an excursion into country rock balladry that indicates a new path for the Britpop-loving Peroni to explore."
